Let us cut the long story short and jump on the easy steps to follow when you want to change your Wi-Fi password.

Access your Wi-Fi configuration page

Enter Wi-fi address into your browser's address bar. The standard addresses are; 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, 192.168.2.1 or 10.0.1.1 (Apple) or 10.0.0.1 (Xfinity). Sometimes maybe it fails then you try the following options;

Factory default settings. You can press and hold the reset button for your Wi-Fi for a bout 30 seconds then, look at the default Wi-Fi address and feed it into your browser.

Or, open command prompt. Type I.p configuration and then press enter immediately your command prompt is open and this will lead you to the default address of your router.

Log in your password & user name

Password vs user name is mandatory for your Wi-Fi. Every Wi-Fi must have a user name and a password; for your access and in case you never configured it then, chances stand out that your password is "admin" & user name "admin" too. However it all depends with the model hence take my advice by searching for your model first.

What if I forgot?

Sometimes you never got the password and username from the person who gave you the comp or you changed log in and forgot, this is not complicated because all you need to do is to hold the reset button for a bout 30 seconds and your settings will go to default allowing access with the default user name and password.

Go to wireless section
The name of wireless section of configuration page varies. Every manufacturer has got different lay-out of their wireless section and if your PC has got numerous subsections, go to the wireless security section.

Finally change password
Enter your new password into the box labeled 'shared key', 'passphrase' or 'password' because these choices depends with your manufacturer details but either way they lead to one destination.

Confirmation of your password. Some routers always command for a confirmation of your new reset password just to avoid uncertainty.
